Joomla for vBulletin, or "vJoomla" is a modified version of Joomla 1.0.12 that is compatible with nearly all modules of Joomla while integrating cleanly with vbulletin. It allows you to add the powerful functionality of Joomla to vBulletin without any hacks to the vBulletin code. This includes thousands of extensions and modules both freely available and commercially licensed that will allow expansion of your forum to a degree not possible with any other portal or CMS solution. Joomla is the most powerful and popular CMS solution on the planet - vJoomla brings it to vbulletin. vJoomla is released under the Gnu Public License.
This is a release candidate version. This means it is feature complete and has no known bugs, but it lacks an extensive testing history so bugs could still be discovered. Use with caution, backing up all data before installing.
However, the most current version of the software is only available on this board since you are required to have a license to use it (or any other) vbulletin product.
This product provides a single login / single session interface with Joomla. That means if you log into vbulletin you will be logged into Joomla. How exactly this is accomplished will be discussed in the first post for the more technically inclined users.
Once you have Joomla in place you open the door to a world of over 1300 modules and components. Anyone of a number of functions can be added cleanly and quietly to your vbulletin site.
Installation Instructions
1. CLOSE YOUR FORUM!!!!
2. Stay logged into your admincp!!
3. Download the two zip files which include the complete Joomla! package
4. Upload the files in the "install to joomla location" folder to wherever you are putting Joomla (usually, but not always, the root of your site). Upload the files marked "upload to forum" to wherever your forums are at.
5. Navigate to the url the Joomla files reside at. The installer should run immediately. Navigate through the installer providing the information asked for.
6. Once the installer completes install the product-jos.xml file into vbulletin.
7. Copy the images, clientscript and cpstyles from the forums to the joomla folder. Note that if you store css as files you will need to redo the copying of the files in /clientscript anytime you update the css.
8. You're now done - reopen your forums.
The installer hints at some things that aren't implemented yet (this is after all - still a beta). Most important of these is the usergroup mappings.
If you want, you can install the vJoomla recent threads module. To do this open the Joomla Administrator panel, click the "Installers" menu item and the "Install Component" Point your browser at the entire zip package mod_vJoomlaRecentThreads zipfile (unlike vbulletin joomla can read zip files and extract the necessary files from them) inside the main package on this page. It should pop right in.
That completes the install. Check install in this forum because I plan to be adding to this at least every two to three days until this build is completed.
This is RELEASE CANDIDATE 1
Note - the Recent threads module and who's online module for vbulletin are preinstalled as part of this package.
Version History (This will get long)
Version 1.0.0 RC2 Corrected two annoying corner case bugs. The installer now gathers the name of the admincp in case you have renamed that directory so that it can find it, And a str_split function has been included for PHP 4 users. No non-installer files changed, there is no reason to upgrade from RC1.
Version 1.0.0 RC1 Completed the Who's Online Module, toggle between Joomla templates and vb and solved all known bugs.
beta 0.2.0: Completed the installer.
beta 0.1.3: Removed a bug in the installing code, and removed the error mailback function.
beta 0.1.2: Expanded code necessary for applying modules to forum pages. vBulletin product installer now should automatically create joomla menu items for each forum. Recent Threads Module completed. Several content display bugs addressed. Added link to Joomla admin panel from vbulletin admincp
beta 0.1: Content sections reskinned to match vbulletin default classes. Error handler placed to aid in debugging. Couple of major bugs quashed. vbulletin plugin for displaying modules added.
beta 0.0.4: Completed the rewrite of content.html.php - this is the file responsible for the layout of most content generated by Joomla core. 3rd party modules may or may not route their output through this component depending on how they are designed. By transferring this module to fully employ the vbulletin template engine there is now no major section of Joomla that cannot be reskinned from the Styles & Templates menu in the admincp. Overall this approach gives a far more flexiable content control system than core Joomla has and will not have until version 1.5 becomes final.
beta 0.0.3: Bugs from beta 0.0.2 corrected including a division by zero error and a module overwriting error. Templates added for the template control of com_content.html.php but they are not as of yet implemented at the code level in this release - they will be implemented in the next release (Wednesday or Thursday)
beta 0.0.2: Tightened template integration - modules are now wrapped by their respective templates instead of being built using Joomla's standard styling approach. includes/frontend.php and includes/frontend.html.php join the list of files hacked in this release.
beta 0.0.1: Initial release with login and session bridging completed.
Да уж такого я ещё не видел, помимо двусторонней авторизации есть ещё общий стиль ... прикольно. Обидно что это только бета - глюков полно. Буду ждать финальную версию. Интеграция просто супер.
